Adopting another orchid…

After closing the doors, windows and drains of my apartment to those unpleasant characters called spiders, I let a nicer one move in on saturday.

On my usual visit to the supermarket I discovered they had orchids for sale. Most of them looked very sad already, being pushed onto that small place, loosing their petals, lacking space. Then I discovered one standing besides the others, which had the most beautiful aspect of all, and was not yet in full bloom. I decided to pick it up and take it home. Now it is there beside the kitchen window, hopefully making friends with the other orchid and the three cactuses I acquired from Ikea for 99 cents each.

Although I do not own a green thumb at all, I am seriously thinking of raising an orchid myself, from the very beginning, but I still did not find a store that sells the necessary equipment. At the garden center I only saw “ready” orchids, the pricing up to 100 Euros.

Maybe I will get to be an orchid gardener, who knows:-)
