I am quite addicted to movies. Frequently, you will find me buying a ticket to the newest releases of films that are about mystery, conspiracies and love.
Last thursday I decided to see “El Orfanato”, a Spanish film (unfortunately in German version). It was one of those smaller cinemas, not for the masses, where a lot of “not for the masses” films are shown. Read more…

Today the clocks were turned one hour back due to that dailight saving time thing. And silly me, for the first time actually, made a chaos of it.
Normally, the PC performs the change of time automatically, and normally, it notifies you of it. This morning, I switched it on and saw no notification and thought, it had not changed. Including, I visited my Google starting page, and the clock there, which normally shows the same time as my time zone, showed a time one hour earler than my computer. So I changed the time of my computer one hour back, wondering why my TV had not changed yet. It was 11 am then (for me)
When walking outside I saw the clocks on the train station I thought: Why didn’t they change the time? They are one hour too late
Not one second I even considered thinking that I might be wrong, no…
The mystery was solved when my brother called and asked where I was, because I was supposed to be at my parent’s house at half past five. I replied, I did not understand the question, because it was only by 4 pm then. Well, it turned out it already was 5 pm… What a shame. They have to introduce the “Daniela time zone now”

A phrase I often get to hear is: “You managed to handle task b. But you failed on task a, which was much easier than b. Most people do it the other way round…”
Often I put very much effort into completing my tasks in the shortest possible time and of course, everything needs to be perfect then. And then it is always about those small issues that I fail to get. A good example is me writing a letter:
- I look through for language errors and correct them
- I reflect whether we should additionally mention this and that…
This is all done…and then I simply forget to put this tiny CC: Mr. Doe on the bottom. When discovering my error I feel like a complete idiot, because, I know I could do better, and instead, I fail.

As a frequent visitor at Starbucks, I am used to be served rather quickly. Until today. I paid for my Frapuccino, and then waited patiently by the table where they serve the coffee. I waited… and waited. One of the baristas was obviously in trouble with the coffee machine. She opened the machine’s lid only to look and try and close it again. But she couldn’t, because some things had fallen into that space between lid and machine. Among those things were espresso glasses and a cup as well as a large amount of paper. Barista number 2 helped her to get the problem fixed and meanwhile they forgot my order and instead began to serve the other guests. Barista number 3 then asked about my order and my answer was the keyword for barista number 2 to finally remember the plastic cup he had placed on the table behind him. He began to prepare the Frapuccino, and gave it to me, mentioning he had upgraded it to “grande”. Thank you, dear machine
