If you set aside that Haloscan commenting system I used on my not-so-nice iframe beginner website back then. It was in the beginnings/the middle of 2005, when I actually heard about blogging and blogging software, blogging services and all that. I registered at blogger.com, which now is accessible via my google account and made myself a blog. And when I was that there actually were some layouts to choose from (and some were made by Dave Shea, owner of CSS Zengarden) I immediately decided I was going to try out how to make such a layout myself. Bravely reasing all the CSS and starting off with a blank document, a minute later I had created what I referred to as being “the ugliest blog layout ever created”. And it was true. Read more…
And it comes with a clear blue sky and sun for everybody to enjoy. Finally, you can take a deep breath and start dreaming about summer. Winter has been longer than usual, it seems, it has been raining for weeks and cold. Now, winter is over:-) I realize that when the weather is fine, I do feel much better, more motivated and my mood is climbing up some points on the happiness scale. I wonder, if it is time for a new layout, since the current one has been up for over one year now. Strange does this seem to me, since there were times when I use to change the layout at least monthly. Any suggestions?
This post is written from my IPhone using the WordPress for IPhone app after fixing the issue that would not let the app connect to my blog. It worked after inserting the wp_head() call into the themes header. I have to admit I am starting to get addicted;) to blogging this way because it is so easy. You just get the phone out and start to write. This is definitely a step forward to getting rid of a writers block, those moments when you sit in front of the screen and just cannot start because something is there to keep your hands off the keyboard…
Anyway, I only know that I love to be connected this way:-)
Thank god I am out of the office until 5 January 2009, which means next year. A lot of spare time for my favourite activities, such as webdesigning, gaming, and reading books. I am actually redoing what will be my portfolio, and officially announcing I will be putting it on a new domain and discontinuing morangodesign.com. It has been on my mind for quite a while and I am working on a new layout to be revealed soon. Of course, a new layout is planned for Islaperdida too, but I just could not get a real inspiration for it yet. The current layout has been the one with the longest on-time I think. There were times when I changed my layout twice a month, but not anymore now I guess.
Did you know that I actually love online worlds and gaming? I own a Nintendo DS and am currently playing Harvest Moon – Island of Happiness and find it much cuter than the previous version. The characters and graphics look much better and the idea of being on an island with some areas being locked at the beginning of the game really makes it a challenge to improve and increase the ranch.
For the beginning, you will find lots of herbs and flowers on the island, which you can deposit in the trunks to earn money and buy plants and stuff. Plus, there is an online ranking acessible via the wireless connection of the DS.
So far, I have refrained from Massive Multiplayer Online Games, except for Second Life. Some weeks ago though, friend of mine told me he was starting to play World of Warcraft again and that he could get me in and give me free playing time. Firstly, I was sceptical because of the many stories I had heard and because I was never really enthusiastic about the whole thing. Anyway, I browsed their incedibly beautiful website today and found out there is actually a whole history built around the game. I thought I would never say that but I think I am gonna give it a try…if the orcs bore me I will be gone
