Technique does not always obey

I was going to finish and publish a post I started yesterday evening on my IPhone. Today, however, when logging in to my blog from the web as usual, the draft was not there. Did I save it? I think so. Yes, I did! Somehow I thought I had been accessing the same interface as I am here on the web and that any draft post or page should be stored safely in the database. Was I dreaming? If the post is not in the database, then where is it?

Anyway, I am still thankful for the fantastic app that allows me to blog from my phone while going home on a train. I mean, does anyone of us take this for granted? Not me.

A booklog for 2010?

When I look back to 2009 and try to remember all the books I have read and the movies I have seen, I do not seem to be able to remember them all. Many movies I saw in the theatres and many books were from the library. Throughout the blogging circus, many people have got something that can be compared to a digital mediashelf, where all books, movies and everything else.

A pretty good idea I think, so I would be able to remember everything by the end of the year. My search for a plugin however, has not really been successful. There are plugins to reflect the current book or movie, but there is no real “media shelf” plugin that could see. If you know any useful plugin of that kind, or even a method to create a mediashelf for a blog/website, I would be very eager to know.

Blogger was what I actually started blogging with…

If you set aside that Haloscan commenting system I used on my not-so-nice iframe beginner website back then. It was in the beginnings/the middle of 2005, when I actually heard about blogging and blogging software, blogging services and all that. I registered at blogger.com, which now is accessible via my google account and made myself a blog. And when I was that there actually were some layouts to choose from (and some were made by Dave Shea, owner of CSS Zengarden) I immediately decided I was going to try out how to make such a layout myself. Bravely reasing all the CSS and starting off with a blank document, a minute later I had created what I referred to as being “the ugliest blog layout ever created”. And it was true. Read more…

Blogging from my IPhone

tiny plantThis post is written from my IPhone using the WordPress for IPhone app after fixing the issue that would not let the app connect to my blog. It worked after inserting the wp_head() call into the themes header. I have to admit I am starting to get addicted;) to blogging this way because it is so easy. You just get the phone out and start to write. This is definitely a step forward to getting rid of a writers block, those moments when you sit in front of the screen and just cannot start because something is there to keep your hands off the keyboard…

Anyway, I only know that I love to be connected this way:-)
