Dumbledore is gay?

You might already have heard this. I did see the video on Youtube yesterday and I must admit I was quite surprised. Many stars do have their coming out these days, and it is nothing extraordinary to see them have a partnership with someone of the same sex. But has a character of literature ever outed himself, or better said, was outed by the author? As I can remember, this has never hapened so far. Joanne K. Rowling, author of the famous Harry Potter books though, made Albus Dumbledore, former headmaster of Hogwarts, come out out to the worldwide audience, more than half a year after the last volume of the Harry Potter book series has been released.

Question is, whether this is a joke or a marketing gag? The critical voices should be rising again, as Potter and the book contents have always been subject to controversial discussions. What do you think is J. K. Rowling aiming at with this “Outing”?

    Hmm I think I heard about this like a year ago already…I think it’s kinda funny )
    Maybe she thought that people will lose interest in the Harry Potter series after the last book is out and so she wanted to make them interested again…
