My CSS came back

A graphical depiction of a very simple css document

Now that CSS Naked Day is over, my blogs are back with their CSS and Images on. I consider this day as a great initiative for CSS and web standards and against those who still use tables for their layouts (and those animated gifs stuffed into the cells of those tables)…

When I first got to know CSS, I wondered how entire layouts could be made with it. I was well aware that links and images could be styled using some lines of CSS, but that was all. Until one sunny day, a friend of mine saw my table layout and said: “Yeah, it’s good, but…” Me: “But…what?” He: “CSS is better! -) ” Back home I started to look for some tutorials on how to create a website layout using CSS only, and ended up at Selfhtml. I downloaded and studied the example three-column layout given there, and experimented with it, trying to do something of my own. The first time I failed. The second time I was about to give up. By layout 1001 I discovered my new worst enemy: IE.

No way out: I took out my CSS hack sword and indulged in the everlasting duel -)

By the year 2008, the duel is still in progress, but my sword has sharpened compared to the past. Still, I think it could be much sharper than it is today and practise my skills, because it is simply so much fun. Beware, IE 6 -)

I’ve given up on IE. Not that I want to. It’s just that they’ve discontinued IE for Macs, so it’s impossible to see how my site looks like on IE without begging someone for a screenshot or busting out my 5 year old Sony Vaio.

    I love CSS =D
I don’t know what I would do without it. Seriously.
Tables are so old school man xP Yet some people are STILL in love with it.

I use IE. I had FF before but Norton Internet Security is blocking it, when i downloaded the new version. I am deprived of FF and let me tell you, i am NOT happy about that >.<

Hmm I don’t know much about CSS D I’m such a beginner in webdesign which is indicated by the fact that my blog is kind of a “pagebuilder” thingy D
But maybe I’ll try to design something myself when I have more time.

Hey Daniella! good to see your site back to its usual self, it shows what you can achieve with css alone instead of using tables and iframes and stuff. I just shudder when I think about my old layouts crammed with tables, loud annoying music and text type, lol.
