Confused (aka. Daniela’s time zone)
10
Today the clocks were turned one hour back due to that dailight saving time thing. And silly me, for the first time actually, made a chaos of it.
Normally, the PC performs the change of time automatically, and normally, it notifies you of it. This morning, I switched it on and saw no notification and thought, it had not changed. Including, I visited my Google starting page, and the clock there, which normally shows the same time as my time zone, showed a time one hour earler than my computer. So I changed the time of my computer one hour back, wondering why my TV had not changed yet. It was 11 am then (for me)
When walking outside I saw the clocks on the train station I thought: Why didn’t they change the time? They are one hour too late
Not one second I even considered thinking that I might be wrong, no…
The mystery was solved when my brother called and asked where I was, because I was supposed to be at my parent’s house at half past five. I replied, I did not understand the question, because it was only by 4 pm then. Well, it turned out it already was 5 pm… What a shame. They have to introduce the “Daniela time zone now”

hehehe…I actually thought to myself what if I done that..like maybe going to school or work an hour late…hehehe, I wonder if they’d accept my excuse then.. I didn’t even know that they were going to moved back the time yesterday…Ah, luckily my roommate knows about it…At work yesterday, my collegue was keep telling me to close the bar because it was already 00h30, but actually it was only 11h30…hehehehe…
Time zones are just too confusing. Thank goodness Singapore has a fixed time zone, otherwise imagine all the chaos I will cause because of my absent-mindedness.
So … I hope you’ve gotten the correct time now?
- grin.
Yes
I managed to warp back to the correct time zone
Yeah daylight savings time is on a different day now. I’m not sure why but … not everyone watched the news and such.
So many people probably did something like what you did lol.

In the US daylight savings time changed later this year, November 4th actually. I thought it was the same everywhere, but I guess not heh. Wow now that really makes international time zones confusing haha.
The whole DST thing still weirds me out, really. I grew up in the Philippines where, as far as I know, we had a fixed time zone. And then we move to the US where we go ahead one hour and then go back—ugh, so weird.
Anyways, I’m glad you got to fix your time and stuff, hee. :]
I’m so glad I live in the only state that is too damn lazy to change the time. We probably should though considering most of my family lives in other states and I’m forever communicating with them. Ha ha, your own time zone huh? Wouldn’t that be a trip :P
Hmm.. I just noticed your domain name, are you hispanic, or spanish in any way? I am so just wondering.
Honestly if you just start writing, maybe even about a common place event like …. brushing your teeth, it can turn into an exciting story if you let your imagintion carry you away. Lol.. okay….. rambling.

I never know when to set the clocks back. I’m convinced it was made just to mess with us. But it’s nice to be able to sleep an extra hour.
I am so glad that the rest of the world changed their clocks now too, in the UK we do it a week earlier - so ‘online life’ is confusing as heck for a while lol
ha ha I don’ t know of anybody that did that. My mom reminded me when the time was going to change. I thought it was weird since it’s usually the last Sunday in October, but this time it’s was on the first Sunday in November. Totally screwed me up.
That is funny and I don’t like the time change. I think its stupid and it makes you forget things and when your body is used to the time, its time to change again. lol
Lol, it really sucks this year because Canada decided that they will change their time along with the States to save energy… but man… what a mess that was!! I don’t know why, but for me, mine did not change in October, but over the first weekend of November as it should have been. Which is a good thing I think. But a lot of people I know said the same thing… that their clocks on their computer units changed automatically if it was previously set.
Anyways, I really enjoy your page and blog!
Thanks
Windows hasn’t given notification of daylight savings time since Windows ME I think, but that sucks about you being late, but also kinda funny that you went all day without realizing everything was an hour late.
Omg that’s too funny. My computer luckily notified me because I also was supposed to be somewhere at a certain time. My cable box also updated but I wouldn’t have even noticed times were different if my boyfriend didn’t say oh we gained an hour, I’d just be all oh that’s the time.

I did the same. We need to just leave time alone. It doesn’t have a purpose switching clocks now that we have electricity.
Thanks for the comment on my site.
it does have a reply if you’re interested.
Hahah. Thanks. I would’ve never gotten an A either, but I took it last year in 8th grade, so it’s a little bit easier. Alg 2 will suck so much worse
How unfortunate! Daylight Savings Time always catches me off guard as well. I messed up a FEW clocks in my home this time around.
Haha, poor you. :P
I’m glad that it didn’t seriously affect your day, though, and it was your family… I’m sure they were understanding?
I got confused when the clocks went back aswell, some of them did it automatically and others didn’t, far too confusing lol.
I don’t like all the confusion that comes with daylight saving. I especially hate it when the move the clock an hour early. They did it this year the day before I had to wake up extra early for school. Waking up at 6am was like waking up at 5am!
I’ve noticed my cell phone takes a while to correct itself during time changes, including when I’m traveling over time zones. It’s slightly frustrating.
It’s a great thing we don’t have timezones, and daylight savings time. We did, one time, experienced DST, but that was in the 80s.
