Nobody called me last saturday
10
Which means I will survive and nobody will be crawling out of my TV .
While in my tiny apartment this day went by quite peaceful, in the online world some individuals used the ocassion that The Ring was shown on German TV to try and fear innocent students. In the German student online community StudiVZ (comparable to Facebook) there is a group where students talk about their fears towards the Ring and all related experiences. And only just on saturday, it became obvious that somebody had created a fake account using the name “Samara Morgan”, claiming to be a member of Northwestern University. This nasty individual posted scary screenshots from the film into the group forum, and used a photo of the actual Samara crawling out of what is supposed to be her home.
In my opinion, any kind of fake account comparable to what I mentioned, is simply ridiculous, and shows the immaturity of the individual behind this account. I find it even more appalling that this person created the account in order to voluntarily scare other community members who joined that group. If one thinks that the film is funny, boring, or whatever else, that is fine, but attempting to scare others is not that nice.
Imagine me, who suffers from severe arachnophobia…I would not appreciate if anyone nasty put a spider somewhere in my apartment, and laughing about me. I know it is hardly comparable to what stated before, but fears are fears, be it towards Samara or spiders

Out of curiosity I searched for Samara Morgan on Facebook and there were several accounts for her (obviously fake). The Ring is one of my favorite movies even though it does scare me to death. I kind of agree with you though, it is stupid creating stuff like that just to scare people.
like seriously ridiculous. she spoiled the fun out of the fear! hehe. it’s fun talking about scary stuff until someone over do it. blah.
I hate that movie, lol.
I think that person is totally immature and needs to grow up. Scaring people is not funny! Especially if what you’re using to scare someone is their fears. If someone blind folded me and took me to a cliff and took off that blindfold to show me that I was 30000000 feet in the air I would have a heart attack! It’s not funny to play on peoples fears that’s for sure.
Even though I thought that movie was lame I can see how people would be scared of it.
haha thats halarious that someone actually has no life to take the time of the day and create a fake account
Jeepers! Talk about immature o_O!
Mmm, I’ve personally never seen that movie. I don’t think I will either :P
That movie scared the **** out of me, but, I think the original “The Grudge” movie is scarier
Oh god.. I would’ve never seen that movie if I had a choice. But our school was on a three hour bus ride back from Alberta and they just HAD to play it in the Coach dvd player. Scared the living daylights out of me when I got home.
I agree, that is extremely immature and I do so wish those types of people could find other activities to keep themselves occupied. On that note, I’m glad no one called you Saturday!
PS- I don’t think your gravatar hack is working correctly because I have one and it is not showing up? I just thought I would let you know.
@Mimi: That surprises me…I only know that it should work when you write the comment using the email adress you registered at gravatar.
Sometimes there are problems at gravatar itself. I will be observing it
Hehe. Don’t worry, although it was kinda disorienting for me to read the first comment you had left. I’ve deleted it now
Anyway, I totally agree with you…making fun of other people’s fears is just sick! I must say, Samara scared the living daylights out of me when I first saw The Ring. Thank god it was just a movie yeah?
Wow, whoever did that is quite crazy and disturbed in the head. Some people really take practical jokes too far. Glad your phone didn’t ring!
