Aerobic lessons with Kate

Without any doubt I am a fan of certain artists of the 80ies. This decade brought tons of fantastic artists, great songs and, we have to admit it, some really trashy music videos. Yes, I know that the technical possibilities had not yet been developed, there were hardly any effects comparable to those we see on television today.

But I think sometimes it was the video director and choreographer who was responsable for a video being a complete disaster. Please understand me right, I do not claim the artist himself responsable for being part of a ridiculous video.

Take Kate Bush. She is a great singer, that is sure and she sure is unique in what she did and does. Does anybody know her song “Wuthering Heights”? Maybe you do… I love that song, and I read the book the song refers to. But watch this video I recently found.

Kate is making strange moves dressed in red, out in the wild. I had to laugh, sorry Kate, but I had to. Would like to know what she herself thinks about it nowadays…

Firstly, I may that your age is possible affecting the way you view this clip of Kate. Whilst I can’t speak for her - I’m sure she would be as proud as punch of her work (the only clip she has reportedly not liked was ‘cloudbusting’).

You can laugh at Kate dancing in a field if that is how it makes you feel - but I think you haven’t understood her work if you do.

Appreciate the post - lovely blog

Yes, I admit that this might be true. Please understand that I am NOT making fun of Kate. -)
And music, as it belongs to arts, is often perceived differently by people, especially when they are of different ages. This does not necessarily mean that they disrespect the work by a certain artist…
