Dreams

No matter how old you are, as a woman you will never be too old for the girly stuff. I am not talking about Barbies or pink plastic ponies. I am talking about building great big castles, called dreams, right into the air, until maybe, one day, you will be living in that castle. Well, maybe.

I am almost 25 now, but I still enjoy watching girly movies and dreaming away. My newest favourite film is The Ice Princess and I got me the DVD today after having borrowed it. Although claimed to be unrealistic by some film critics, I think the film has at least one clear statement: In order to live your dream, and not someone elses, you need to do everything to reach your aims and to be feeling really like yourself. If you keep living a life that was planned by someone else for you, you will never be happy. And you cannot do it alone, maybe you could, but with the loving support of those close to you there is always a smile on your face.

Now at almost 25 I will not be able to become a chess world champion anymore, because I just started it. But dreaming is allowed, don’t you think?

    i still like girly stuff like that from time to time. i’ve never seen the movie though.
