Again: A new theme

Nowadays, I am very eager to create and upload new themes for my blog, and although I often get somewhat frustrated by my dear friend IE, except for version 7, I cannot and will not seem to give up and burst out in tears.
As there is the very recommendable site Browsershots, where websites can be submitted in order to request thumbnails of views in different browsers, I submitted my site and waited for the results. Here is the official list of browsers, in which my theme WORKS and LOOKS GOOD:

Linux

  • Sea Monkey 2.0.8
  • Phoenix 0.5
  • Mozilla 1.7.13
  • Flock 0.7.13
  • Firefox 2.0.0.3
  • Epiphany 2.14

Mac

  • Safari 2.0
  • Firefox 2.0.0.1

Debian Etch

  • Konqueror 3.5.5
  • Iceweasel 2.0.0.3

Ubuntu

  • Opera 9.2

In Windows XP, it looks good in all Firefox versions and IE 6 and 7, supposingly in Opera 9.20 too.
For the correct display in IE 6, I used a hack to tackle the problems.

The bad guys

There are some browsers, in which the design looks screwed up due to failing CSS support. They are Netscape 4.8 on Linux and Dillo 0.8.
My dearest friends IE 5.01 and IE 5.5 shrink the sidebar, both. I feel that those users with the last named browsers should switch to another browser. This is my one and only comment about it.

    It’s so difficult coding for IE, especially for someone new at coding like me. My site does not align properly in IE6 on Windows XP. I’ll have to have a look at that site to see how it looks on other browsers and systems.

    I code in IE and it works fine for me…however it may not be fine in other browsers lmao.

    IE6 and below, our common enemy! But I agree IE7 seems to be getting better. People should upgrade. Now! :P
