Long time no blog

Work just eats me up currently, this is nothing but the truth and until the weekend, there is no time for blogging (nor for any other activity that means having fun).

Installation of Feed Burner

Today I registered at Feed Burner. The reason is that I am interested to view the blogs stats and especially the number of subscribers. As a Wordpress user, you need to install a plugin in order to get things working. Afterwards you can log in to your account browsing through the different stats sections. Stats cannot be viewed immediately after the installation so a little patience is required. Feedburner can be used in various blog tools, including the Blogger Service and Wordpress.com blogs.

Blogging for money, why?

I have read and heard about the pay per post thingie and it made me reflect and think about it. For me, I see no point in signing up for this service. You see, I go to work every day to earn money. I need this money in order to get me a decent lifestyle, and, above all, to be able to invest something in my free time activities. One of those activities is blogging. I bought my domain in 2005, and this January I got myself a flatrate and thus being able to stay online as long as I want. I create designs for my blog because it is fun, because it is one of the things I love most. In earlier times, I would have given a world for a hosting without ads and a real domain name. This is why I would never splatter my personal blog with posting about some wonderful product which I might not even like in reality. Not even for a few bucks.

Summer time

The sun is shining. Germany is experiencing almost 30 degrees and I am walking around in flip flops. It is unbelievable. I have my balcony door open, while the scent of freshly grilled sausages (Let me have one, willya?) enter my nose and while listening to my neighbours talking in a rather retarded way.

Have a nice weekend;-)

we all have our views on things. just like in monetizing the website, i admit that i sign up on that kind of activity. well, i want to earn money on my own and that’s the only thing i can do to earn cash.

well, that’s basically my reason. i’m not defending the others who are also into this. because we do have our own reasons why we venture the grounds of monetizing our blogs.

and i respect your opinion and your ideals D

I really don’t understand blogging for money either but bleh what do I know. It’s good that the sun is up =]

The feeder sounds interesting. I was looking into the pay per post thing too but I wasn’t should how it worked.

I think those who sign up for the Pay-to-post do it for different reasons. I thought about signing up myself, just to make some extra cash; I mean, you can never have *too much money. *lol* However, in order to make any money, you have to post often and I know I detest reading blogs that are full of those Pay-to-post entries. Eh. *lol*

I like this site the layout is definitely different.

I use feed burner for 2 of my sites, I don’t use it to do the stats but I do use it for RSS feed the stats are usually 24 hours behind for the RSS feed I don’t know about the counters or anything

I am of the belief that on your own site, you should be able to do whatever you wish. If you want ads and to participate in pay per post, that’s your perogative. I also believe though, that not everyone wants to the see this kind of thing on a personal website, and so having ads and posting paid content gives you the risk of alienating your users.

The sun has gone over to your side of the world now, it’s freezing in Australia! Enjoy your sunshine.

Blogging for money I think is a waste of time cause alot of times u get all those ads and have to talk about topics you dont really like and it can push readers away cause they’re afraid theyll get spam or a virus. Thats cool that you live in Germany. Ive always wanted to visit there. ♥

Personally, I don’t think I’ll blog for money since that takes all the fun out of it; but I guess there are different reasons why people are blogging. Some to keep their families or friends updated, some to let their negative emotion out which they most likely couldn’t do in real life, some just following the trend, etc. So to each their own, I guess?

I personally like doing PayPerPost. I considered the consequenses before I started doing it - and I decided I could live with them.

Your site is beautiful, I really like it. In other news, I’ve looked into PayPerPost, but since my site is new I have to wait until I have 20 posts and it hits 3 months old. I’m going to try it out because while I also work out of the house, it’s always good to make a little extra money doing something you already like doing.

We’re finally getting warm weather here, too. I just hope Missouri’s retarded weather patterns stay at a comfortable temp. for at least a little while, instead of boiling wone minute and freezing the next.

I’ve thought about blogging for money. But too bad my paypal account can’t receive money. I can only SEND money. It’s sad. Plus, I can’t work here in my country cuz I have a busy schedule.

And wow. 30 degrees Celsius is really warm. My country experiences about 27 everyday and my friends and I are already complaining. We would scream our lungs out if it was 30 here :S

I never really liked the whole ‘blogging for money’ thing either, but I guess some people find it useful if they’re looking for a way to make a few extra bucks.

The weather here has been gorgeous too! Hope you have a great summer. :]

I signed up to Feedburner awhile ago, but I still have yet to actually ‘use’ it… I kind of forgot about it, but since you mentioned it I’ve grabbed the Wordpress plugin )

Hmm, I had thought about the blogging for money thing, but, like you, I have a job for money, blogging for me has never been about making money from it.

The UK is enjoying early summer weather too, I’ve had probably about 5 BBQ’s already!

About the pay per post thing, I respect your opinion but to be honest, I also signed up for that and completed two assignments. It’s really hard for us students to buy hosting and domain. It’s also a hassle to ask from parents cause usually, they won’t understand this whole domain, website, and blogging thing. So this is my only source of money to pay for my domain and hosting. I can still have fun even if I monetize my blog a bit. ^^

    Hooray for the sunshine!

Good for you for deciding against PPP - I wish more bloggers would because it’s turning lots of personal sites into money-making cess pools.. and what’s terrible is that the owners aren’t even making that much money.

Sounds like nice weather over there - we’ve had rain all day! (

  18. gravatar :

I don’t like blogging for money, I think a blog is very personal and not about advertising.
Sadly it’s raining here now, the sun was so nice )

  19. gravatar :

Yes life can get so busy sometimes you don’t have the time nor the energy to blog ( *sigh* About blogging for money - I did try it. I’m a university student and thought it would be nice to earn some money through ‘blog to profit’ which gives you money for blogposts rather than ads. I earned a little over € 70,- a nice sum, because it was 50% of my ticket to Madrid to see a good friend of mine :P I’m not receiving any assignments anymore, probably because I posted all my assignments in one day and blogged right after so my readers wouldn’t get too bothered by the posts D Hahaha~ oh well for some it’s nice money making, but I must say I’m glad I don’t have to post anymore. It truly messes up the flow of your blog (

The weather has been good in The Netherlands too, but unfortunately it has changed a few days ago. Nothing but grey and rain *bwaaahhhhh* Take care ~

    i think i wanna install a feedburner. :P

yeah, you are lucky you get to work and earn money. i use my blog to earn money because i needed money to be able to pay my domain. :P

The pay per post thing: When I read a blog with those posts, I just consider them spam and read on to either another post or another blog…

Thank you , really its a rich blog .. )
hope you visit my blog .. and learn me more from your experience
