Upgrade to 2.0.5

Today I performed the Wordpress upgrade from 2.0.3 to the new 2.0.5 release. I never found the time to upgrade during the last few months, and today was the day.

When reactivating the plugins after the upgrade I was quite content, because nearly all plugins seem to work with the new version, except for the More SmiliesĀ  plugin, which produces a whole bunch of error message above the admin panel. I might look and figure out if the whole issue can be fixed or not.

The ones of you who are using Wordpress might have displayed a link for user registration on their blogs. One click on the register link will bring you to a for where a user name and an email adress can be entered to send you the registration data. I have seen though some people who are directly displaying the registration form in their sidebar. My question now is: How do you do this?

Furthermore I want to thank everybody on the nice comments on my pot “Looking for colors”. It turned out that everybody has an own way of styling their sites and finding the right look and feel for themselves. Color schemers seem to be a great help or additional measure to have kind of an orientation when it comes to color combinations. The right feeling is what counts in the end. The creator must feel well about his or her page, having the impression that the layout displays or reflects good vibes, for the site author and for the visitors of course, which is the most important thing.

I don’t use wordpress so I can’t help you with that. But I agree that colour schemes are important for a website’s look and feel. The most amazing websites out there have effectively incorporated catchy colours or sombre ones to suit their site’s theme and content. Personally, I prefer working with white..it just looks good on screen coupled with other softer and vibrant colours.

I’m pretty sure I updated my WP2… I honestly don’t even know. I’m currently working on building my own blogging system because WP is just a little too much for what I want it for… I don’t need or want most of the features it has.
