The computer interfered with my attempt to send my mother a personal ecard especially designed for her. The USB slot at the PCs here at university do not work and I do not have internet at home. It is a pity. I will have to send it tomorrow.

Currently I am noticing an increase of phishing spam mails all wanting to get the bank data of clients of a certain german bank. In all the mails, a link to a form is provided and client is asked to enter account numbers, TANs and even the PIN. What do these jerks think? Do they think somebody is so silly to give out his pin? Besides, many banks now have warnings on their homepages, stating that nobody will ask a client for their PINS or TANs. The messages are also written in bad german, so at least this should make the recipient think, if he did not wonder about the mail yet.

A friend of mine even got a mail once, which said that she had been caught while downloading mp3 files illegally and show she would be punished by law. This could not be true, because she did not downloading any files of these kind. We told her it was spam, and she should not be afraid of it. In fact, it was spam, but this case makes you see how these crap can thrill you. By the way, following a request, I installed a newsletter plugin. You can now subscribe to my blog and receive a mail everytime a new entry is posted.

    If someone sent me an email and said I illegally downloaded music, I’d be terrified. :laugh: I really dislike spam mail too, thank god wordpress catches 99% of it and it doesn’t show up on my site. *knock on wood* I hope you get to send your mom her Ecard soon!

    I would totally freak if i had been sent an email saying I would be punished by the law! Im used to spam, its just part of the internet but thats going a little too far. I’m also really fed up with those chain mails - You will have bad luck and be doo0med in love for ever if your don’t send this to 239847506 people in .14 seconds. Grr!

    Ehh.. spam mails are getting really irritating now. flooding my inbox with those useless messages. ahh. there was even a fake bank website online, we have just got to be careful with it )

    Eww, spam mails.

    The kind of spam I get are those drug-related and the usual kinds. I can’t type them out here just in case my comment itself becomes filtered as spam! Haha.

    As for phishing, I usually ignore them. I have one and only one bank and I know that they do not send notifications through email. :P Heh.

    I hate getting spam. In my case WP doesn’t do a very good job on comment spam. :gross:
